In Years 10 and 11 students have the opportunity to study BTEC Level 1/2 Tech Award in Sport (Syllabus Number 603/7068/3).
This course is 100% theory and in addition to Core PE. If you wish to study sport at KS4 students should be interested in and play sport. Students should have a good attitude to learning in both practical and theory PE at KS3, completing work to a good standard.

During the course you will cover a variety of topics including:
How the course is assessed
The course is assessed through two coursework units worth 60% and one exam unit worth 40% if the final grade.
Career opportunities
Successful completition of the course will enable students to go on to study a Level 3 Sports course with career opportunities such as a Teacher, Coach, Physiotherapist, Sports Nutritionist, Personal Trainer, Sport Psychologist and in Sports Development.
Post-16 opportunities
This is an ideal qualification for someone wishing to go on to Level 3 / A Level Sport or PE.
Required resources/equipment for the course
A good attitude to learning in both theory and practical PE at KS3. In addition, you will need NCL PE kit consisting of the purple logo polo shirt, plain black shorts/jogging bottoms and trainers.
