“Mental health is not a destination, but a process. It’s about how you drive, not where you are going”
Mental Health includes our emotional, psychological and social well-being. It affects how we feel, think and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others and make healthy choices. We all have mental health and, just like our physical health, it needs looking after.
At New College Leicester we acknowledge that a young person’s mental health can be affected in a negative way through lived experiences including bereavement, long term physical health conditions, domestic violence and trauma.
We sign post and refer our young people to professional organisations, if needed, to support them to have positive mental health so that they can live their lives to their fullest.
