City & Guilds Level 2 Technical Certificate in Hairdressing

This is a 1-year full time course for post 16 students. This Level 2 Technical Certificate in Hairdressing provides you with a range of essential technical practical skills and knowledge, which will equip you to seek either further training or employment as a junior stylist providing hairdressing services within the hairdressing Industry. The skills include carrying out services such as; shampooing, conditioning, styling, finishing and setting hair, cutting and colouring hair. You will take part in work experience and work in the college salon working on clients to build and develop your skills to prepare you for assessment.

You will be assessed by;

Externally set and internally marked synoptic assignment (practical assessment)

Externally set and marked written theory exam.

Unit you will cover are:

Principles and practices of hairdressing

Shampoo, & Conditioner

Cutting Hair

Style, set and dress the hair

Colour and lighten the hair

 

You will be able to pursue a Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Hairdressing. Full time employment in a salon. Apprenticeship in Industry.
