A Hat Trick of Strong Opposition for New College Footballers

Team Leicestershire school sports competitions are back, to the delight of students who represented the College at the recent Year 7 Girls Football Tournament!

Fielding an enthusiastic team of 9 players, some of whom had no previous experience of playing football and had never taken part in a tournament of any kind, the event was a big success with the players. They loved taking part and having the opportunity to meet students from other Leicestershire schools.

The opening match against Beaumont Leys was a 1-0 loss for our team but with growing confidence they secured a 1-1 draw against Brook Mead Academy, before going on to win 2-1 against Castle Mead Academy.

Congratulations to all team members for their great effort, especially those participating in a football match for the first time and to goal scorers L Carlise, K Bevans and I Oloszczynska.

Thanks to Team Leicestershire for organising the tournament and to Miss McLoughlin for coaching the team.

Well done everyone!
