A grand day out ...at the theatre!

Earlier this year, sixteen of our students made their way to Leicester’s Curve Theatre to see The Four Seasons by James Wilton Dance Company.

Complimenting our commitment to a broad and balanced curriculum – and further developing our students’ cultural capital – this was a real opportunity for pupils to experience a live dance performance in a world-class theatre.

Shannon Coote and Billy Keen from Moving Together Dance (MTD) joined us on the trip, in support of the children who attended the theatre as part of their Arts Award Bronze (AAB), which is part of their after-school commitments.

This after school club, which is a fully-funded programme, supports our students' involvement in dance activities, enabling them to achieve their AAB qualification.

The children had a great evening out, and hope to return to Leicester’s Curve theatre again soon. Here’s a selection of their comments:

“I loved the whole show … it was amazing, and I’d love to dance like that.”

Ash, Year 7

“I enjoyed the actual dance because it isn’t a style I usually watch, and it was interesting.”

Megan, Year 7

“I enjoyed everything about this trip.”

Liam, Year 7
